COMPANY HISTORY
Celplast Limited began as a film trading company in 1976. The two principles are Chuck Larsen, President and founder, and Bill Hellings, Vice-President, both former Celanese employees. In the early 80’s they developed a relationship with a US-based metallized film producer and began distributing these films. This event spawned an interest in the production of metallized film, and Celplast Metallized Products was born in 1984, with one metallizing chamber and slitter/rewinder. Chuck and Bill are still active in the day to day business operations of Celplast Metallized Products.
Since that time, Celplast Metallized Products has grown to include a team of 50 people with several state of the art metallizing chambers and slitter/rewinders.
Celplast Metallized Products Limited has a long history of customer service. Celplast initially grew as the contract metallizer
of choice to some of the major polypropylene film manufacturers
in North America, achieving 7 million pounds of sales in 1994.
Our growth over the next ten years was even more remarkable, as
we took this technology base and expanded it to metallize a
variety of films for various markets, effectively doubling our
sales volume. Now, as we enter 2009, our 25th year, we begin the
transition to a new management team and a focus on providing the
highest possible level of service, quality and barrier film
innovations in our industry.
